Firstly, I think Jalu creates great fragrances and he's really gifted, and out of the many that I've purchased this is the only one I felt was pretty off the mark.
Compared to the original, this is a lot heavier - feels like too much leather and/or cardamom, which drowns out everything else. So it feels a lot darker, sweeter and a bit screechy compared to the light creamy hay-like quality of the original. I purchased this around April 2026 so perhaps it was just a bad batch...
Jalu is the absolute GOAT when it comes to fragrances! 🔥 I’ve been buying from him for about three years now, and he has never disappointed. The quality is consistently outstanding, the scents are incredible, and you can tell he takes real pride in his craft. I’ve built up quite the collection over the years, and I keep coming back for more. Easily one of the best in the game. Couldn’t recommend Jalu Fragrances highly enough! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

A month in my cupboard and it's perfection. It smells very lemony immediately after spraying but that calms right down. It dries down very creamy and sweet like the original. Also incredibly long lasting (especially on clothes).
I have been duped by a dupe company, oh the irony! Wanderlust does not even almost resemble Gypsy Water. Heck, it doesn't even resemble anything at all.
Just in case it was made super fresh, my bottle of Wanderlust has been "macerating" for a month and it still smells like a big hotch potch of nothing. I have smelt a friends bottle of the Jalu dupe for Le Labo The Matcha 26, and honestly, my bottle of Wanderlust smells the slightest bit like that. Either way, putting what it is inspired by aside, my bottle doesn't even smell anything like a pleasant perfume that I could wear anyway.
